Cover Reveal

It’s been a really busy time of late – what with a new job and a hectic schedule of gigs with The 4 Tarantinos. Any spare time I’ve had has been spent on the realisation of a project that has been lurking in the back of my mind for a number of years, and one that is very close to seeing the light of day.

The downside to all this is I haven’t been able to post to my blog as frequently as I’d like.  I’ve also struggled to keep up to date with other people’s blogs, which is not ideal. After all, as I near to releasing the first book in my Forest Town Chronicles series, it’s connections I’ve made through WordPress that have helped me get this far.

Grand Illusory EBOOK_COVER

I came across the amazing artwork of Peter Campofiori on WordPress, and it is him I have to thank for allowing me the rights to use one of his pieces for my upcoming book cover. If you have a spare minute or two check out his blog.

And Kate Johnston, whose 4am Writer blog I have been a follower of since my first days on WordPress, has helped me polish the manuscript and get it ready for release, and for this I can’t endorse her editing services enough.

I still have a little work to do on the Forest Town website, but hopefully I’ll be ready to launch in the next few weeks.

Until then, I’ll try and hang around all the other great blogs I follow a little more than I have been doing because there are some truly talented people on here.

  1. How funny… I too am catching up on some blogs today and managed to stumble on a post of yours from this time last year, that I must have read at the time, but which I refound and resonate with now. Anyway, your project is looking exciting and the book cover looks great. Congratulations on the many hours, days, weeks and months of work and dedication which must have gone into your project (and still are)… The most worthwhile things in life really often are the most challenging eh?

    • Hi Amanda,
You’re absolutely right about the most worthwhile things being the most challenging. It’s been a hard slog to even get this far, and there’s still a lot of hard work to be done.

As always, thanks for the words of encouragement 🙂

  2. Thanks for the shout out, Darren. I, too, am way behind with my blog. I had hoped to post weekly once I came back from my summer hiatus, but already I have failed that goal. Part of the reason is that I’m throwing a Halloween party for my kids tomorrow, and I do all the prep myself. I have been swamped with that. (Are you buying that excuse? 😉 )

Anyway, I love the cover and it really does pair nicely with your wonderful story. I can’t wait to check out your Forest Town website — such a cool idea! Make sure you post about it so I don’t miss out.

    • Hey Kate,
Hope the Halloween party went well. There are some things that are too precious to miss out on, especially when it comes to your kids. (I have another on the way in February, so I’m getting my excuses in early lol!)

I really love Peter’s artwork and am so thrilled to have gotten rights to one of his pieces. And I’ve gone with your comments from the edit, so hopefully you’ll be happy to be associated with it when it finally goes out!
